A hand-tied bundle of dried botanicals and rattan wood flowers: two rattan reeds to draw the oil, with cattails, billy balls, bunny tails and sola wood flowers around them. Drop it into any narrow-necked bottle of diffuser oil, or stand it dry in a bud vase.

Two rattan reeds wick the oil up and release it slowly, all week, with nothing to light or switch on.

Made by hand

Each bundle is tied by hand in Nevada from dried plants and sola wood; no two are quite the same.

How we use it

Set it up once on Sunday; it quietly does the rest of the week.

  1. Pour a diffuser oil into a small glass bottle with a narrow neck (an old diffuser bottle, an apothecary bottle, a bud vase with a small mouth).
  2. Slide the two rattan reeds in and let the dried flowers rest above the rim, out of the oil.
  3. Flip the reeds once a week to refresh the scent.
  4. Or skip the oil and stand it dry on a shelf as a piece of decor.

Questions

Does it come with oil or a bottle?

No. This is the botanical bundle. You supply a narrow-necked bottle and a diffuser oil; the Slow North blends work well.

How long does it last?

The reeds work for months; a 4 oz bottle of oil usually lasts 4–8 weeks. The dried flowers are permanent as long as they stay dry.

Will the flowers soak up oil?

Keep them above the rim. Only the two rattan reeds should sit in the oil.

Is it safe near a candle?

No. Dried plants and oil near a flame is a bad idea. Give it its own shelf.
